Believe Religiously In Yourself

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are considered amongst scholars as, “The Abrahamic faiths”. These are three different religions, but all of them hold to a story about a man named Abraham from ancient Mesopotamia now called the Middle East or Levant. Abraham, according to most scholars of these faiths, lived around 1700 B.C. - 2000 B.C. The time varies depending on the scholar. Nonetheless, all three religions agree that Abraham had a divine encounter with whom we call “God” in the English language. This encounter had a covenant at the end of it with God promising Abraham that he would make him a great nation. This story birthed Israel and the Judaic faith. Of course, this is according to Jewish people that believe the sacred writings known as the Hebrew Bible. Other belief systems arose throughout the millennia and evolved versions of Judaism as well. Christianity and Islam are the biggest two.
Before you get bored, let me say that a history lesson is not the point of this script. My goal is to show you how faith can grow from an encounter with one man into global religious institutions that make up a larger portion of humanity in 2018 C.E. Whether you believe or don’t believe the story, whether you think it’s real or just a myth, there are over 2 billion Christians, 1.8 billion and counting Muslims, and over 14 million that adhere to Judaism. There are over 7 billion humans on the planet. The Abrahamic faiths arguably make up half of the human population.
Many would think, “so what who cares?,” while others may see this as a problem for humanity. I see it as revealing our nature and power. With one thought, a human can influence billions even thousands of years after they die. Even if Abraham never existed, as long as it’s believed that he did, that thought has power and a life of its own. This is the power of faith, belief, persuasion. What if you believed in yourself this way? What if you had a faith story like Abraham? What if what you were persuaded by became as real as Israel, the Vatican, or Arabia? I say you are as real as these places, and your faith in yourself can be as influential and powerful for you as Abraham’s was for others.
This is not about sparking a new religion but sparking religious belief in self. Religious meaning systematic belief. Systematic belief in self. You should have a belief in yourself so deep, so strong, so impenetrable that every inner thought converts to the faith you have in yourself. If you choose to believe in your uniqueness the way half of humanity believes in Abraham’s uniqueness, it would be impossible for doubt to win and dominate your mind. We should be encouraged from birth that we have the ability to formulate a mental structure that works systematically to bless us. Your body does not work against you. Neither does your mind. Everything about your existence is designed for your benefit. But it’s based on what you put in your body or in your mind. Put only the things you want in you in you.
Make a covenant with yourself. Establish the mindset that’s best for you. Believe in it and act by faith. Believe and do! Believe and do! Believe and do according to the faith of your mind concerning what you are and will be.
How, you may ask? You are free and a creator. Believe in that and create freely as you see fit.
