You Were Not Born In Sin

But I was born a sinner, yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.

-Psalm 51:5 The Living Bible (TLB)

This passage is where the phrase "Born in sin" comes from. According to Pew Research Center, there’s over four billion people that make up the three Abrahamic faiths (Jews, Christians, & Muslims). That's over half of the global population.

Abrahamic faiths are religions that believe a man named Abraham received a promise from God. God made a covenant with him that his bloodline was chosen by God. Each of the aforementioned religions believe they are of that bloodline or promise: a chosen people out of all of sinful humanity.

Pause and think about that for a second... Today, over half the population believes that humanity was conceived and born in sin. This can be understood as collective consciousness at work.

What is collective consciousness?

To not get too technical, I'll plainly say that it is a sociological concept that points out how groups or societies develop agreed upon mindsets that govern behavior for order in that society.

An example would be saying ‘hello’ or ‘thank you’ to show good manners. It isn't a law, but it is agreed upon that these expressions are good and decent to do amongst one another because it is polite and nice, thus good for a society to do. Meaning, not being polite is not only rude but ultimately bad for a society. This is a conscious collective. Societies do this for control and order. Religious families, communities, cultures, and nations apply it the same way. Using sacred texts and doctrines as their societal rules.

For Abrahamic faiths it starts with, “you are a sinner”.

WHAT IS A SINNER?

Most dictionaries will define it in some way or another as "someone who breaks divine law". For those that follow Abrahamic practices, Jehovah/God/Allah is the one who made divine law or commandments. They must be followed, or consequences will follow. Consequences that will fall upon a sinner typically is some type of punishment or judgment usually eternal condemnation.

Remember the Bible passage above? Over half of the human population believes they were “born in sin" resulting in God's consequences, wrath, judgment, condemnation to befall them upon conception; making their conception damned! Their life ultimately DOOMED!

Over 4,000,000,000 people believe this! It's taught from childhood and passed down generation to generation amongst them.

Now each individual religion will tell you their version of how to avoid this human damnation. They all will tell you that belief is required and must be maintained in order to receive redemption which includes obeying God’s laws.

Yes, obey God's divine law.

Now that would be three sacred books you'd have to study for the rest of your life, because of course, which one is the right law? The Torah? The Bible? Or the Quran? Which God is the right one?

Again, I remind you that 4 billion people make up the three Abrahamic faiths. They believe they are born sinners and cursed by their God because of their wretchedness. They believe they must turn to their God in faith and believe in the laws and follow them. THEY BELIEVE THIS. ALL 4 BILLION+ OF THEM.

I declare this as negative thinking at its finest! - simply because the word "Believe" etymologically means "be loved or beloved" NOT be hated or belittled or be damned.

Believing or better yet “Beloving” that you are born a sinner is not being love at all. “Beloving” that you were fused together and formed in sin while in your mother's womb and condemned is not LOVE.

Love is an emotion or feeling best expressed in actions. It involves affection, benevolence, pleasure, protection, healing, etc. Love is a complex subject but it is always understood as contributing to health and goodness.

If your mother abandoned you, she still CHOSE to carry you for nine months and push you out. I don't care if it was for selfish or self-preserving reasons why she carried and birthed you. That means self-love which is a form of love is what you were formed in. If she tried to self-abort and an emergency c-section had to be administered... She may not have wanted you, but that doctor and his team made sure you were born and lived. That is at least a form of love for one's fellow man meaning you were born by love.

Your existence involved people being HUMANE. Humane is synonymous with grace. You were conceived, formed, and born in GRACE if anything.

I am not talking about pretending there is no pain in your life or this world. I'm talking about how much it takes and costs to form and birth a human life. You were beloved somehow. Love and grace were present in some way. If it were not true, the loving and graceful acts that birthed you would not have happened, and you would not exist. That is not sinful or worthy of condemnation. THAT IS WORTHY OF CELEBRATION FOR ONE'S OWN EXISTENCE.

‘Universe’ means “all that exists’. You exist and are a part of this universe. You're from this universe according to physics and biology. We absolutely know and understand this much.

God, according to Webster's Dictionary, means “ultimate reality”. Ultimate means “final” and reality means “real”. This existence is final and real.

The doctrines of religions are uncertain, relative, and can’t be absolutely proven. Why delve into uncertainty that calls your existence sinful when you can dwell on what you absolutely know?

Your existence is as graceful, awesome, wonderful, complex and beautiful as this universe BECAUSE IT IS A GRACEFUL ACT TO NUTURE AND BIRTH LIFE. TO FORM LIFE IS GRACIOUS. That's all it ever will be.

Why not start “Beloving” this about yourself?

What if over 4 billion people believed this?

Your existence is proof of love and grace, or you wouldn't be here. Even if it's because of your body's innate will to live and fight death; that is in line with love of self and means that the predominant force within you keeping you going is... Love.

Love and grace are what's in you, NOT SIN! THAT IS A LIE!!

Remember, out of over 8 billion people, only 4 billion+ believe this. You don't have to. If you are one of them, you can stop believing it and be love to yourself and tell your mind encouraging and beautiful things.

Why muster up faith, which is trust, to hate yourself when you can be love to yourself?

It's normal, psychologically healthy, and innate to love self. It happens to us all, but it is unhealthy to always hate self. Let go of self-hate and low imagery of self. Believe good things about your existence. It's your mind. It's your life. And you have this ability called THINKING that no one can control, nor does anyone have control of it, but you. Your mind thinks how you want, allow, and train it to think. I'm suggesting to think graceful thoughts. If you have no good thoughts, then create new thoughts because you are the one in control of your mind and life.

Start with Love and Grace. You were shaped and born in it.
